I am not a expert Explorer user. Probably have 30 hours on the SE and 5 hours on the ET. From this point of view, a non expert not hunting in AM with ferrous tones, I really like the ET. Again, I don't know if it's merely the coil, but in dry hard ground at an fairground I have hit fairly hard with the SE, I found MANY targets I had not found before. It was all clad and don't suppose I'll find deepies until we get some rain. I chose not to dig the deepies I did see as the ground is so hard and I knew the plug, even with the flap intact, would die and leave a nice rectangular sign that a MDTer hobbyist had been there.
I would say the Pro coil provided more separation than the 8" Stealth I used on the SE, and I was constantly digging a target. Only twice did I dig a pull tab. I am having trouble precisely pinpointing with the Pro coil. The SunRay probe worked great on the ET and would put me exactly on the target. I dug most everything with a coin popper. I just need to learn where on the Pro coil the target it when pinpointing. It appears to be behind the center of the coil and a little to the right of center. The ET automatically detunes itself after each sweep to allow you to be more and more precise where the target is. I liked that feature. Maybe this is a major expensive beginner machine. Jim
