A Banner Half Year

2013 has been a great year for me and my Pioneer 505. Although I was only able to use my detector since June because of a bad coil, I still managed to find approximately $142.56 worth of US and Canadian coins and a valuable trade token.
I found a valuable trade token which I managed to sell for $100.00.

I found 627 US coins worth $33.75 which break down in percentages as follows:
1 JFK 50 cent .16%
64 clad quarters 10.21%
127 clad dimes 20.26%
5 nickels .8%
430 pennies 68.57%
of the pennies 127 were copper of which 6 were wheaties. A 1944D, 1945, 1949, 1953D, 1953S and a 1958D.
the other 303 pennies were zincs.
I missed hitting silver twice by 1 year. The first time I found a 1965 dime. The second time I found a 1965 quarter.trike
Perhaps I'll finally strike silver in 2014.

I found 58 Canadian coins worth $8.81 which break down in percentages as follows:
2 toonies 3.45%
3 loonies 5.17%
3 quarters 5.17%
4 dimes 6.9%
5 nickels 8.62%
41 pennies 70.69%
Can you imagine if i lived in Canada and found the number of coins that I found in US coinage (But they were Canadian instead.)
It's no wonder why Canadians find so much more money while searching in a given day then us Americans do.

Anyway 2013 turned out to be a banner year for me.
I wish all of you a Happy New Year and may 2014 be good to all of you too!
