A 65 Coin Day for a Whopping Dollar Total of...

Wait for it.... $1.70!!! Mostly stinkin' zincolns. I decided that it would be a good day (holiday & Monday, most stores closed) to get out and try the old alley behind the circa 1890s stores and near what was once Main Street, before the floods turned it into a ravine. Spent a beautiful four hours out in shirt sleeve 60-ish degrees and pulled 65 coins out of it, but sure couldn't find much to brag about. 34 rotten zincolns, 21 pennies from the 60's - '83 (Copper, at least they're worth 2.25 cents if we get to melt them down, heh), 9 clad dimes and one stinking quarter. Sheesh. But it was an enjoyable day, and the new ProPointer and Lesche got a good workout (sold the White's Bullseye - got $66 on feeBay fer it :clapping: ).

I suspect that they added fill back there at some point. Ah, well, if it stays warm, maybe I'll hop in the creek and see if I can do better. Gotta be a few Reales or nuggets in there somewhere!

HH to all!

34 rotten zincs, I've never found that many:rofl: At least you got some coins and exercise:thumbup:

Very nice William..
That's quite a work out..
I dug 11 Lincolns and 2 clad quarters today and can hardly walk..
I'll do it again tomorrow, weather permitting..
Loving my AT..

And I'd still be diggin' zincs if it hadn't gotten dark! :crylol:

Sonnydigs: glad you're giving the new machine a good workout! Yep, one of my reasons for getting the ATP was to get out and get some exercise, though I'm quite open to the idea of digging a cache of Spanish coins vs. the zincolns!

Hammer: You bet! I'll post on my attempt to hunt a ghost town in a few...
