Sorry to disappoint all of you relic guys who were expecting to see some nice CW bullets, but the AT Pro retrieved 3 rings for me yesterday, thus the 3-ringer day!!
I headed over to a spot we have affectionately name Buzzard Gulch due to the large group of buzzards that usually are there first thing in the morning. I fired up the AT Pro, set it to Pro mode, iron disc 25 and ground balanced it.
Here's the AT at the lakeside.

And the exposed lakebed I hunted!!

There is just no way to describe all the info the AT gives you thru your 'phones. As I worked along, listening and digging, it just amazed me at what the AT can tell you. I dug bunches of junk and lots of goodies and had a real blast. The first ring I found was a small silver one that gave me two different tones. First was a mid tone followed by a quick hightone. When I scratched down about 2 inches, a ringtab popped out. I rescanned and got only the high tone. I scratched down a couple more inches and out popped the little silver ring. That just amazed me!! By the amount of crud on that ring (more on that shortly) and knowing how many times this spot has been hunted, that ringtab has been masking that little ring for a long, long time. But not from the AT Pro!!
I managed to hunt for 4 hours and as previously stated, had a blast. No gold showed but I'm sure the AT would have put it in my pouch If I had coiled over it!!
Here's the take for the day!!
First the fishing lead!!

And the loot!!

I have a pic of the trash targets, but since I can only post 5 pics....it's out!!
Now onto the rings!! Two of them are pretty neat finds, the 3rd will be my new pinkie ring!!
The big one of unknown metal has the latin words "Esto Castus" engraved on the outside and "Thou wilt be pure" on the inside. Maybe someone on here can enlighten the rest on why that would be on a mans ring.

The little ring that was masked by the ringtab is even cooler in my opinion. After soaking it for 4-5 hours in Tarn-x, it was still hanging onto about 1/2 of it's crud. So I soaked it overnight in Braggs Apple Cider vinegar and this morning, all the crud was off and it was ready to be shined up. After I got it shiny as I could, I saw how pitted it was after evidently spending many, many years in the lake. I started inspecting it with my jewelers loupe and saw the tiny words "United States of America Quarter Dollar" on the inside!! It's an old coin ring!! Further inspection revealed the date of "1943"!!
So now, I'm inviting all of you who are shut in by the bad weather or just want to let your imagination run wild, to make up a story of who might have made the little ring from a quarter all those years ago and how it managed to end up where it did for the AT Pro to come along and rescue it!!
Merry Christmas, Ya'll!!
