A 1787 Nova Caesarea, Two Draped Busts, Buttons, and a Crooked spoon and Bonus Crooked Fork!

I was reminded again today that a lot of research pays off. That research led me to what I thought may be an untouched cellar hole in the middle of a forest. Shortly after finding the site, I discovered a nice New Jersey copper dated 1787,

Two Draped Busts with one dated 1802

Some nice buttons including an oval one which you don't see as much

And a crooked spoon and fork.

That's when I noticed a few pieces of metal laying on top if some rocks...Drats, someone beat me to it...But they were not thorough by any means...

Obviously the find of the day is the fork and spoon. It's not every time out detecting that you come across both. One of these days I am bound to find the coveted utensil trifecta!

Unfortunately I had to run solo today since Todd said he "has to work" I on the other hand never let work get in the way of detecting.......

here are some better pictures of the New Jersey copper

Nice finds, Gary. Don't ya just love it (NOT), when some lazy ass hunter leaves his trash rather then take it?

Thanks guys. The New Jersey copper cleaned up with just water and a very light brushing with a tooth brush.

The coins I found were easily located by anyone with a clue so I'm curious what the guy made off with.

Almost all these finds were within an area of only a couple hundred square feet that he OR she overlooked.

Very nice hunt Gary and some great saves......:clapping:

Man that Jersey copper is so awesome ..... It makes my head hurt cause I want any State copper. I showed the picture of it to my detectors and told them to fetch...they just stood there silently as much as saying "It ain't my fault...!

Congrats Gary that is a hunt to remember!

thanks guys! That's really funny Bell!

Wow! Great hunt!

Sweet looking NJ Gary ,good for you

Hi Don! Wow it says that variety is rare.

Rare can be a bit relative when it comes to colonials. I have 2 of the Maris 63-S variety.

Alright I guess I'm withdrawing my retirement paperwork, Haha. Thanks Don ,I trust you when it comes to all things coin.

What a sweet looking coin! I love the horse and plow symbology of the times. Of course it would of been strange to see a John Deere on it. Great finds all!

hahaha thanks.
