A 1270 that is fun to hunt with!

I had hipmounted my 1270 and really enjoyed it but I have been hitting some brushy areas lately and that free hanging cord seemed to catch on everything. So back to the drawing board I went and this is what came out. It is well balanced as you can see in the pics and I added a neoprene cover to protect the housing when I set it down and a bicycle grip from a bicycle shop that cost me 10.00 for two. I hunted all day with this set up last Friday....a truly fun hunt!

Very cool rig.

Here is a link to a simple sling you may want to try, I started the post but another guy had a better design. I have made several for my brothers and myself and you can just about take all the weight off the detector that you want.

Which looks sorta like that....but this detector is balanced so well now...I don't need one!!! That is a cool idea though.

I agree you very well balanced, I could see with the one finger on the grip that it is even balanced with just about the right swing angle. Just one thing though, I was kind of wondering how you work the toggle switch on the bottom of the control box? Looks like that may be a job for the other hand.

Maybe FT is taking notes for there next design.

Good job,

I watched him hunt all day long with this machine without fatigue, well, not because of swing the detector anyway:poke:

I really don't like to do that on the forum, but to get on here and call us "pre-schoolers" was over the top.
Thanks "shooter"

Hey Mark way to go my friend, I thought i'd be a wise guy back but i liked your style better just to the point, had emailed Dave J about possibly any other type of machine like the 1270 to be built like the 1200 series machine and he said that the demand of such a machine just isn't there so but he did say was there was quite a bit of stock out there still to supply the demands of the market at the moment
