9x8 vs 10 eliptical dd

I was just wondering about the differences between these two coils. Until I get a 5.75 I might be able to use the 10 inch in trashy places. Mineralization and trash could act the same. I know the 10" is good coil and goes deep. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I haven't used the 10 inch elliptical ... but since it looks like it is about 5 inches wide and only 1 inch longer, it covers a lot less total area than the 9 x 8 so that should help put fewer targets under the coil at the same time if it is trashy.
I'd say give it a try.
One thing I do if I am a good walk away from the car and have the 9 x 8 on and find a trashy area is that I raise the coil about 4 inches and do a quick search for shallower targets first, dig some trash too, and then go over it again slowly and a little closer to the ground.
Patience and working slowly eventually turns up some nice finds.

The 10"eliptical is better in trashy areas because it is a DD and has a narrower search pattern. IMO the 10" DD is almost as good as the 5.75 concentric. The 5.75 DD would be better yet......................Darrell
