just wanting an idea of what you guys think is a better performing coil over all for my eldorado?i dont have the 9x8..do have the 8in brown and 5.75 and 12x10 and a 7 in DD...thanks alot

I have the brown donut and the 9x8. Did a whole lot of air testing and comparing the 2 coils using my Golden and Cortes. At times I tought maybe I saw a tiny difference and at other times I couldn't see any difference. Used coins and an assortment of gold jewelry in the tests. Seem they are equal in depth and in separation when trash was mixed in with a good target. I use the brown donut because I like the looks of it.

I have had a number of Tesoro's and have always liked the 8" brown round concentric coil. I didn't see any gain using the 9x8 coil. Steve.

thanks guys..kinda what i was thinking..love the brown coil..i have had alot of detectors and my eldorado has to be my favorite ..even like it better than the vaquero .merry christmas and happy new year!!

What testing I've done matches what's already been posted. I've had good luck with both coils.

I think both coils are good, and it doesn't worry me which one I use. I prefer the 9x8 at the beach because the build-up of sand on the coil is not as great, but I have made good finds with both coils.

What are your findings with your testing on the 12X10 coil on the Eldo?.. I have started a new thread asking about the 12X10 on the Vaq., but saw this topic and am asking the same question , as my friend also wants a 12X10 for his Eldo, and altho it is a concentric, not the DD as the Vaq. we both would like help from anyone who has used/tested the larger coil on either unit...Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks...

i have the eldorado with several coils with it...8 inch brown coil gets more depth air testing than the 12x10 concentric coil..not sure why. i did have a silver micro max and the 12x10 on that detector woke it up! alot deeper.my eldorado was still slightly deeper though but not by much. so now if anyone has a silver micro max and wants depth from it most definately buy a 12x10 coil. the eldorado is the best machine i have ever owned. i had the tejon, vaquero, silver, compadre, ace 250,and several others and sold them all.
