9x8 concentric on Outlaw?

Kapok

Has anyone ever tried the 9x8 concentric coil on the Outlaw? Should work, right, since they're both 5-pin? Just wondered if it would be better than the standard 8" concentric coil.

The 8 inch doughnut coil is just as deep and works better for me. I replaced my 9 x 8 coils with 8 inch doughnut coils.:)

Ha, go figure! Sweet, I'll just keep using the doughnut coil then!

I took the Outlaw out to a park I hadn't hunted before. The swings and playground equipment look like they're from the 60's but all I found was clad stuff. The crazy thing about this area along the Lake Michigan shoreline is that everything is built on a sand dune and coins sink really fast. I was digging zinc pennies at 6". But I really like the way the Outlaw handles and like it more each time I use it. On Friday I am going to take a day off and go hunt an old resort that operated in the 1880s until 1964, and I always find something there. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I don't have the Outlaw, but do have multiple

Kapok, visually you're right and I wouldn't want to imply my experience would be the same on every machine, nor every time as the difference in depth was pretty minor. The 9X8, being a spider design tends to hangup in brush etc. more, but in the end either coil will find the goodies if they're there.
