9x2" Hotfoot

scoper

New member
Anybody using this coil at the moment. It looks as though it would be good in the trash being only 2" wide.I would'nt mind trying one but i'd like some opinions first as it's rarther expensive over here in the u.k.I'm not all that interested in depth...more in target seperation and sensitivty to small targets.
Thanks, Neil.

Hi Scoper, I have never used one but i have used the 6x10 dd, and it did a very good job in trash so the 2" should do even better. I don't think alot of people use the big one. Good luck with it if you get one and let us know how it works. Maybe get something new going over here. Good Luck Dean

I have and use the hotfoot (3x9 from jimmy sierra). I've heard it's no longer made (don't know for shure). That coil is a killer in trash, pinpoints very well after one gets used to it. Has very good depth where I hunt. Target separation is great. It's the only coil I use . Sweep it fast or very slow.

Thanks for the replies...there does not seem to be a lot of info regarding this coil. They are still available here in the u.k which could be old stock.......however i did here that they may have gone back into production.I think i might give the coil a go...as i said seperation is my prime concern but it is good to hear the coil does o.k on depth as well.Just out of interest what sort of depths is it capable of on a variety of coins???Thanks again to you both for the info,
Regards,Neil.

sens +1 relic mode, disc at preset, slight threshold. Copper cent-- solid hit 7.5 inches, threshold rise 9 inches. On a low mineral sand beach- soda can 18+ inches (unfortunately i've dug them that deep on the beach with this coil). The 3x9 isnt technically a DD coil but performs very much like one.

Thanks Ralph....i'm definately going to give it a try. Those depths are way past what i expected.
Many thanks Neil.

The mxt runs at 15 khz, so that coil also works on the DFX in 15 khz, and I believe it'll work on whites top line vx3 in single frequency even though isn't balanced for the vx3 (this coil predates the vx3).
