9x12 Concentric ?

After reading several posts about the 9x12 Concentric Coil I decided to buy one. One of the main reasons was because everyone said it seemed to not pick up the pulltabs as much as the DD coil. With that said, can some of you explain why it doesn't seem to pickup the pulltabs as much as the DD and what the other benifits and differences are with the 9x12. I have not used it yet...see earlier post about my last trip to the lake (still deciding on if I send it back or wait).

It's bottle caps that it isn't so hot on, not pull tabs. Bottle caps on a DD often times sound like silver quarters. The concentric also picks them up, but gives a better junky signal.
