9X12 Conc. Coil

Allan

New member
Is anyone using the 9X12 conc. coil on the AT? And if so, do you like it better than the stock DD, do you get better performance/ depth/ pinpointing with it? Thanks

I have only been using it. It is great for coin & jewellery hunting, both on land and in the water. Because of its large footprint, it covers a large area in less time. And because it's a concentric coil, it doesn't have such an affinity to bottle caps as a DD coil. It works great in my soil. however, as a rule, a DD punches deeper in mineralized soil, and the smaller search area can isolate targets better. I tend to pinpoint off the front inner toe of the coil.
