9v NIMH battery for Vaquero

Tony

Member
Does anyone know if a 9v rechargeable NiMH battery will fit inside the battery compartment of the Vaquero?

I think I read an earlier post which suggested it was a tight fit.

Thanks for any help,

Tony in Aust:ausflag:

On my Cutlass uMax (modded to Bandido) it is tight, but I would still recommend them. You just may take an extra 2 seconds to get it out. Better than too loose. I would assume that all the uMax fit the same.
Get the ones with higher voltage (extra cell).

Rick,

Really appreciate that information as my nearest Tesoro dealer is 3000 miles away !!

When you mean extra voltage, do you mean extra capacity (Mah).

I think NiMH 9v run between 150mah - 200mah,

Thanks mate,
Tony (downunder and West quite a bit)

MAHA/Powerex 9 Volt Lithium Polymer RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES

Seen these at Thomas Distributing...500mah capacity.

Might send an email to the technicians at Tesoro.

Tony.

Some of the NiMh are higher voltage because they have an extra cell inside (about 1.2v each cell). Since on most detectors the battery voltage goes directly to the audio output, you can get a little more volume on your headphones. The maH (miliamp hours) will only determine how long they last on a charge.
