9v connector needs to be replaced

I noticed a red wire has come lose on one of the connectors is this an easy fix or do i have to have the connector replaced? Added a couple of pictures dont know if it helps the red wire is completely disconnected.

You can get a new one from Radio Shack. Or, maybe crimp it with needle nose pliers, a dab of solder maybe? Hard to tell without seeing it, but it isn't a hard fix either way

thanks for the reply i'm not the handiest person when it comes to that stuff so trying not to sound to dumb,obviously i would clip off the old connector would the new one need to be soldered to connect the new one or would electrical tape work?

Yes tape will work.Straight line butt connectors, small ones, will work also. You could solder but it I wouldn't.

Lots of those 9 volt connectors out there. Should be the first suspect to check if you detector fails to beep when turned on.
Most of these type connectors wires are just crimped tite to the contacts, not soldered. Since they are mass produced, there's
a good chance of getting one with the contact wire barely crimped that eventually falls off the contact.
If your careful you can solder the contact and wire together and not melt the plastic portion.

Don't fool around just go to radio shack an get a new one simpel repair with a small sodering iron,, just put one on my QDII took about 30 min.
