97 Cents in ONE HOLE!

Nancy-IL

Well-known member
Larry and I were hunting a private yard and I came across a honey hole. My detector said it was a "large item". Well, I first pulled out a silver quarter, then two more, then a silver dime along with two cent coins. One of which was a memorial dated 1962. I was in shock! After checking the hole, I was finished with it. I hunted a bit more and then needed a rest so I went and sat in the truck. There was something calling me back to that hole. Something wasn't settling right. I got my detector and went straight to that spot. Found an old roller-skate wheel and sure enough, another silver (Rosie) coin. Yahoo!!!! That hole gave up 97 cents and is the most silver coins I've ever found in one hole.

Here's my finds:

I also came home with 4 wheat cents and a "LOOK 25 Anniversary" token from the LOOK Magazine

All in all, we both had a great day. Then to finish the great day off, we had some frinds over for hot wings on the grill and cocktails along with a fire in the gazebo. SWEET!

HH,
Nancy

nice! nothing like the feeling of pulling bright silver from the ground

were you using the 950 coil?

Once again we all owe you a big CONGRATS, Nancy! Your luck is like no other.

Thank you so much and yes, I was using one of my favorite coils, 9.5 stock in relic mode. HH, Nancy

I haven't hit one like that in a lot of years. Congrats!! By the way, I just got a "new to me" used MXT Pro. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I think I'm going to run it in relic mode in the fields...

the underrated White's loop

I found some deep pieces of metal with that coil last week on a very hunted site of mine

You're going to love that MXT! New or old, they're one heck of a nice machine. I've said it many times before............I'll never give up my MXT for any other. Heck, I have a brand new DFX in the box that I won and I don't want to use it and won't either. Good luck and HH, Nancy

Congrats, that's a great find. I've found coins in one spot, but not silver. Nice going.

Thanks Mat, This was my biggest "silver" spill that I've found. Even though they're fairly newer coins, they're still silver. HH, Nancy

MAJOR CONGRATS!!! I've found over two dollars in one hole (once), but never silver. That's great!

Some may call it "good luck", but I thinik it's mostly LOTS of experience and hard looking.

Patience, determination to search efficiently, using a great detector and coil, and especially enjoying the benefits of being able to work private property.

Location is really a key, more these days than long ago when, in the latter '60s and early '70s, public land often surrendered such finds. I haven't had that level of 'good luck' for several years, and then it, too, was on private property.

I hope you can experience something similar again, soon!

Monte

Thanks Monte, It sure was fun pulling all that silver out of one hole and I know a lot had to do with.........location, location, location and a little luck. I bet some wouldn't have even dug it since there was a big metal object blocking the silver. Glad I checked it out. HH, Nancy

Gila Mark, I think you're right. Both, luck and experience. I've done a lot of researching and some of these old farm houses and private property give up great treasures. Even though the silver were newer coins, I'm happy with them. Thanks for the congrats and HH, Nancy

Really great find there Nancy! Sounds like agreat ending to a wonderful hunt.
Marty

Marty, Yes, it was a wonderful ending to an exciting hunt. Wish we could have shared it with you all. Nothing like friends and family! HH, Nancy

Nice silver spill. That sure would have made my day too. Way to follow your hunch ! Big Big  CCH

Thanks EJ, That means a lot, coming from you. HH, Nancy
