Do i have to have my headphones pluged in to water hunt as long as i have little blackcap over phone hole???????? Any absolutely sure answers will be appreciated

I don't know for certain, there is a rubber O-ring that is part of the plug. That means you should keep water out of there. Don't know if it will get into the detector or not, but why risk it? Just getting dirt in there will not be good. The manual says to keep the cap on if not using headphones.

BTW, the other day I noticed my screw-on sleeves on the wire connections had unscrewed. It is a good plan to be certain they are tight before water use.
