i found two targets in the damp noll at high tide, but i could not get either one, both holes had reached 18 to 20 inches and i could not get them. between the waves rushing in on me and i had on sneakers and socks from work and the extreme depth i acutually gave up. i will not make that mistake again, i am carrying my big scoop from now on...............

seems to be ok................light - i must have mis-read the damn add, i thought i was getting all three coils - wrong - u get the 7.5khz................i am going to get the 3khz next and give it a shot.

more info. later

So, how does that seem to do. I would have given up at like 10 inches lol. See, dry sand isnt that bad, it can be fun sometimes!!

You sure you weren't chasing small pieces of iron in that wet sand? It can really fool you where it appears to pinpoint. I'd check your targets by the criss-cross method for a few outings. If the target moves substantially from the original location - I don't dig it. It's probably iron.
As far as coils go, I have the HF (18.75) and I like it a lot. Good on small gold and doesn't seem to have a problem chasing crusty zincs to ridiculous depths.:heh:

The 18.75 and the 7KHz coil. Both are 9" and I think that is a fgactory promotion plus some other stuff. When I bought mine I didn't want the 9" 18.75 KHz so I told the dealer I wanted the 18.75 5x10 instead and that is what I got. Anyway if yoy only got one coil that is not right and you need to check into that with the dealer you got it from. You also should have got a 2 year extra free warrenty at no cost to you. Anyway just a thought. How about taking that X70 down to the wet salt sand and splash around in the shallows alittle and let us know how it does. I am not going to get to find out how mine does yet as I still have not got over to Jacksonville Fl. yet. Hell everytime I get ready to go something else happens around here. Now it is both 4 ton Air Conditioners are messing up. Anywayget out of that dry sand and get that thing wet. If you get the 5x10 DD 18.75KHz make sure you seal it real good before you get it wet.
