$90 For a Rechargeable Battery Pack?????????

New member
I was just quoted $90+tax for a rechargeable battery pack and that's outrageous. You can get 24 AA's in bulk for $12.95 and that's $3.98 for a AA reload or 23 reloads for $90. Has anyone figured out how much it costs to recharge a rechargeable overnight? At $90 is the rechargeable really worth it?

It costs approx. 5 cents to fully charge the battery. There are battery stores that repack battery packs. Maybe they can repack yours for less, worth a shot! I know that when the time comes I will contact them to see what they can do: ( I dont know what their prices are to repack a Minelab pack and no I dont work for them.)

At a Interstate Battery Store............ Was a couple years ago so price may be higher now like everything else is.. BUT..Would be way less than $90.00.

I also had an 18Volt Power Drill battery done for $12.00 at the same time.. Only prob is that Store closed down........ so next one may be more...

Some hobby shops have a good selection of batteries for remote control cars and airplanes , and sometimes you can get them to build you a custom battery pack . It might be worth a try .

I found its much more cost effective to purchase some 2000mah eneloop rechargeable batteries and keep 16 of them on hand and charged. Then just throw them in the battery sled that you should be able to pickup for less than 35 bucks and you are set.. Just a personal preference but it has worked out very well for me...

Slightly less expensive is to use the Minelab AA pack and a AA rechargeable battery system like this which I bought along with an extra four batteries for a total of $48.00 from BestBuy. This comes with a wall charger and also a car charger adapter. A very good deal and works great. The batteries charge in 15 minutes and last longer than standard AA's.
