Quick hunt after work today before I had to sort out the winner's for the contest tonite. There sure is a lot to like about this coil. It pinpoints beautifully off the front inner toe, it is so large that it's excellent for hunting large areas quickly and it sounds off those beautiful audio tonnes to help separate the junk from the good stuff.

John, what did your ground balance at when you used the 9x12? I've had good success with the DD in my area that usually balances to 89-91. Now I'm wondering if the 9x12 will work for me here in the Northwest to get a bit deeper.
Since buying the AT Pro I've enjoyed all your posts so thank you.

I'm curious too. Why would you choose the 9x12 over the DD? What circumstances make one or the other better for a certain area?

I reckon that both the elliptical concentric coils would be hot on the AT. Glad to see some posts on it.

It's larger....covers large sports fields faster, and for those "NOT TOO DEEP" rings and coins, which are in the top 3-4" anyways. It also pinpoints nicely off the inner heel or toe of the coil, which I prefer to do. If the soil is highly unrealized, the "DD" coil might be the better choice. :)
