8x14 Eclipse DD...More Coverage or Depth?

Just got one to try out. Opinions? How does it compare to the 10" D2? Ground is really dry here now, and the 8x14 only gives a iron grunt on my 10" deep .69 cal bullet, where the 10" D2 gives a high tone 2 ways. I got the 8x14 because I had a 10x12 SEF, but I think the D2 is a better coil than the SEF. I want to believe that the Whites coils work better on the MXT because that is what they are designed for. Oh, I had a Super 12 and was not impressed with it because our ground around here is a little hot and the concentric coils do not get the depth that the DD coils do.......MO

The Eclipse will give you more coverage (14" vs 10").

Usually, depth is proportional to the smallest dimension of the coil when comparing similar types of coils. So the D2 should be a bit deeper than the 8x14 (10" vs 8").

What does the ground read in your area MO ? I have the D2 and really like it a lot in my ground ( mid 40's - low 70's ) but have been thinking about possibly getting the 10x12 SEF although it may be redundant. Thanks.
