I started out to the river yesterday to try out my new scoop, but turned around and went back to the house to wait on a Fed-ex delivery that didn't come. I was wanting the sling I ordered from Kellyco to use when I went out into the water so I wouldn't accidentally dunk my 2500 in the river. As it was, they didn't show and I got to the river about 4 pm and hunted to a few minutes after 6 pm and found 80 coins. That's my personal best and I was finding coins even after dark. If I had went to the river when I started out I believe I would have had a 100 coin day, which would have been a first for me. I found 12 quarters, 13 nickels-the most I have ever found & 9 dimes and 46 pennies. all these coins were clad, but the $5.01 will go toward paying for my scoop. I really wanted to find some jewelry, but I'm heading back today, Saturday and Sunday. betweem the morning and evening church services. Having to leave the water to empty the coins out of my scoop cost me some valuable time, but when my sling arrives that will speed me up. I didn't want to drop my 2500 in the water and I am a clumsy person. I did drop my unit at the car and when it hit the asphalt, I was afraid it wouldn't work, but it powered right up. I never knew water hunting would be so easy on my back even with the scoop. No bending over or stooping or kneeling down and up and usually my back would be killing me, but I'm ready to go after lunch today. The park closes at 8 pm and if I had taken my headlight strap that fits on my hat, I would have stayed until closing last night. The water should be back up to normal levels by December-15th or the 17th and I want to work it as much as I possibly can. Every time I scooped where my target was I would rescan the area and coins around the dock were so close and plentiful, 1 scoop had 10 coins and 1 scoop had 8 coins. I would also rescan after I dumped the junk and shells just in case I missed something and the scoop worked great especially for someone who seems to struggle with anything new like I do. I'll be glad when I can start posting photos of some of these finds because I'm pumped up about finding 80 coins in 2 hours and I know you more experienced members have found a lot more than this in one day. If I had dug 80 coins plus all the bullets and pull tabs on land I would be unable to go dirt fishing for a week. I am definitely converted to water hunting and hope to find some good stuff this week. HH
