8 years with my Silver umax!

Well-known member
It has been with me on a lot of hunts and some with my late father , how he got into to it because he found his first silver quarter with it and he was hooked, and I can say I found enough things to feel up a dump truck and my oldest coin I've every found in my 22 years a 1814 bust dime. And it still purrs like a kitten, thanks Tesoro for all the memories HHH

nice !!!! that's why they can afford a lifetime warranty,,,, you never need it !!!!!

Hank,
I have detected with my Silver uMax exclusively too but for 5 years. It finds everything. I never felt the need to "move up".
My friends say I should have it bronzed or donate it to the Smithsonian.
US made and a lifetime warranty. :usaflag:

Gosh-got me to thinking. Mine's about that old. I guess that's why they call them an investment-not a purchase.

Heck saw 25 year old Tesoro's at planted hunts so your unit is a youngun...Yep can't beat them for longevity and service after the sale......

He he! Like my Royal Sabre? Forgot about it. Got it for $75-my best buy ever!

I with you on that MM on that, but I am thinking about the golden umax maybe but the silver umax has never let me down once!

The Tesoro Golden uMax is fantastic for coin shooting and finding gold and silver jewelry. I really enjoy mine a lot.

If you're looking for deep silver coins, get the Vaquero. It's really goes super deep.

Its an investment that keeps paying off serveral times over, when I thumb it and pick up around foil setting and drops off at the 5 cent setting most of the time its a odd shape like ear ring, beaver tail something small it that range, just knowing your detector is worth a lot, thanks for the replies, HHH

Hank,
I bought a Vaquero a few weeks ago, but I haven't taken it out of the box yet. It's tough for me to put down the Silver uMax it's so easy to use. :detecting:

I to have a vaquero, but I love the umax it has been a workhorse with a 5 styar rating its the perfect machine, I logged a few hundreds or close to a thousand hours on it that's no joke!

The Vaquero is a good coin shooter and jewelry finder too....the only problem i have is that if the area is trashy, it is a lot harder to find coins
