..About this coil for mxt...Ive got one due to arrive Monday from Kellyco..figured there would be more talk about them than posted..what is verdict on users who have them as to how they seem to work as meduim size coil?I have 12inch and 4x6..so need medium size....with little talk hope i dont regret buying:rage:

I have one due on Monday too, I just read a post on one of the other forums here that they were hitting more targets in areas they prieviously hunted pretty heavy. Thought it was deeper but the ID's were off a couple numbers, very stable on the beach too.. It was a toss up between the 6x8 sef or white's 6x10 for me, I would like to have seen a comaparison between the two but sinse I'd heard the 6x8 was a little deeper I went with it.

I have one and love it. I am not sure if it goes any deeper than the 950, but it is much more stable at a higher gain, which puts me as deep as the stock coil. The VDI numbers will change a bit though. I dig all solid targets, but on the stock coil, on my beach, reads 18 (usually) for gold and 22 is the pop tops off coke cans. With my 6x8 s.e.f. gold will read 22. NancyIL on this forum said it is normal for you VDI to change by 2 numbers usually up or down...so I believe that the s.e.f. will go up a couple of numbers than you are used to on the stock coil. I will say this for anybody thinking about buying a 6x8, I would get it for trashy areas. If you are trying to search dry and wet sandy beaches, I would go a bit bigger. They are a lot lighter than the stock 950 and a LOT more stable. I am actually going to sell mine and buy a bigger s.e.f when I get back to the states.
