8 Silver Day!

I had the kind of hunt yesterday that we all dream about! This is my second best hunt ever. Went to a local park that I hunt a lot. Earlier this year, in this same park, I had a 9 silver day including a pocket spill with a Walker, 3 Mercs, 2 war Nicks, a steel wheatie and a regular wheatie. This park has been in use since at the least the 30's, but the key is to get back in the woods. All the open Fields have been hammered, but much of what is wooded today was fields in years past.

So yesterday, I went to an area that I have at least walked/hunted through, or around, previously. At first I wasn't getting much, I think I had dug an older Memorial was all, then I got a 1-42, jumping to a 12-47. Of course, I got really excited thinking half, or dollar! I started digging and about 5 inches down I pulled an SLQ, I was very happy with that, but I put my pinpointer back in, dug around with my hand and saw another quarter in the hole. This time a 42 Washington. Ended up pulling a Merc and a War Nick from the same hole! So, I started really working this area, and I swear I couldn't go more than 15-20 minutes without hitting a wheatie, or another silver! It was fun!

Here are the results, (minus 2 - 1960's Memorials).

Congrats on a fantastic hunt ! :beers:

Great hunt. I was having "fun" just reading your post. Thanks for taking us along and thanks for the picture. 8:6 is an awesome silver to wheat ratio.

Man that's a great day and a great spot! Way to go after the tough spots in the woods, it paid off very nicely for you!
