8.5"X 11" DD Searchcoil

Does this coil actually give more depth? Would it be worth the investment in order to get deeper? I used my sniper today for the 2nd time and did pretty good (for me) with it, digging up 11 coins. None of them were any further down than about 3 or 4 inches though and I'm wondering what I may have missed further down. I do like the sniper as I get a lot of hits with it and pinpointing seems to be a lot easier. It's just a question of depth. I see the coil with the new 350 is advertised as going deeper and wider than previous coils but from what I've been able to find, it's not available for the 250 model.

The 8 1/2 x 11 DD Coil will work on the Ace 250, as does the 10 x 14 Excelerator DD Coil. Considering one or the other myself, or maybe the regular 9 x 12. Been looking for some opinions; can't decide.

:usaflag:Actually it is available for the 250, I (pre)ordered one a little while back. Still waiting for it to be shipped.

I can see your point. I usually never find any coins beyond 6 inches. But, there is one place where I'm sure it's going to be fruitful. It had a lot of activity from the 20's to the 70's, and one day they brought in 6 inches of fill and planted some trees and made it a park. All of the goodies are below that fill....1927 Peace Dollr and a 1952 Franklin Half Dollar have been removed so far...and I know I can find more if I can just get by all the beer cans and get a little deeper.

I think that this coil will serve me well here....hope so...should be fun to find out.

The Sniper will actually get about seven inches. The coil for the 350 will be available for the 250 plus most of Garret's other detectors. The new coil is a DD so may pick up slightly more depth but don't expect wonders. The only reason it will is because it is larger in size. It will get more depth in mineralized ground over a standard concentric coil of the same size but in normal ground it won't get any more.
