8.5 X 11" Coil

I just got in the Garrett AT 8.5 X 11" coil for my AT -Gold. After doing a air test with the 5 X 8" coil that came with my AT-Gold & the 8.5 X 11" coil ,they both read at about the same depth on every item I tested. So just letting everyone know don't waist you money on the 8.5 X11" coil.

dont rely on air tests to judge depth on a coil use the ground and a buried target to do that there is a differance

rich if your looking for a coil to cover more ground in a shorter amount of time the 8.5 x 11 is the ticket. If your only looking for more depth, well I have not used the 5 x 8 yet so can't respond to that. I have read some posts where the users say they are amazed at the depth of the 5 x 8. I hope to order one next week. Happy hunting!!

Yes . . air-tests are about as reliable as a politician.

I cant comment on the Gold, however with the pro the larger 8.5x11 is deeper than the smaller coil with targets in the ground.
