8.5 widescan for Tejon?

VaRelics

New member
I just ordered a 8.5 wide scan for my tejon. Has anyone tried this coil?

Regards,

havnt tried the 8-1/2 DD but I use the 10x5 & 10x12 DD and like them , the Tejon runs very smooth in threshold AM using DD's and is more forgiving in GB adjustment , I hope you do well with it and look forward to an update

trueblue - I'm looking at the 10 x 12 DD for my Cibola. Is it easy to pinpoint with this coil? My current 9 x 8 concentric is always spot on.

Steve you should'nt have any problem pinpointing with the 10x12 DD usually an inch or so back from the heel or toe of the coil , it won't seem as dead'on as the concentric at first until you get the hang of it , I see a few Cibola user's posts that swear by the 10x12

I wasn't impressed with the 8.5DD. Maybe you should get the larger 10x12DD.
I didn't see any advantage over the 5.75DD for coin depth.

I personally would refuse shipment and get the 10x12DD in exchange. I think you would be happier.

If you never used a DD, pinpointing is easy, just different than concentric in the procedure used.

the 10X12 is a great coil:thumbup:

Thanks for all the info. I have the 12x10 DD but I find it to be a bit heavy. I was looking at the 5.7 but decided the 8.5 might give me a little more depth and coverage and be lighter than the 12x10. I will probably get a 5.7 in the future as well. I'm sure I will find a use for all of these coils from time to time. I will post some feed back once I try the 8.5.

Got my 8.5 today and it seems to have the same depth and weight as the stock 9x8 but with the expected wider pattern. I will have to try it in the field to determine its stability and characteristics and I will post back after that. I plan on keeping my Tejon for many years so even if its on par with the 9x8 it will be a good back up.
