8.5 or 10x5 elliptical widescan?

Dont know about the 8.5 but I love myself the 10' elip on my Vaq. Its deep and stable. I use it in the mountains with variable ground conditions and hunt in AM when there are little targets around. Because its so smooth, you can tell your ground condition have changed in AM if the thresh becomes unstable as you swing. It just takes 5sec to adjust and off you go. It pinpoints dead on at either tip, i prefer the front. I bet it rocks on the Tejon as well!

Man Jharhead i just got a10x5 elliptical a few day's ago and put it on the Vaquero not really expecting much, boy was i wrong.I have not hunted with it yet because i am waiting on the weather to cool down a little more. But it is ready.Think of the coverage, and the way the coil is shaped for hunting around obstacles such as trees. And it is so light.I think you will like the 10x5.

I got a 10x12 & 10x5 dd I like em my Tejon runs smooth as with DD's , if I could only have 1 it would be the 10x5 ep I find it its better in tight area's than even the 5.75 plus the 10x12 gets a bit tiresum after a while

Yeah I looked for a secondhand 10x5 for quite a while hard to find , I came across a 3x6 nugget ep on ebay old Lobo coil not the ST the original ...being smaller I thought it'd be even handy'r in the scurb I hunt , only to find that it had a different connector and wasnt suited to the T , V or C due to frequency .... its only the coils from the Lobo ST that are interchangable ..lesson learnt ...I went out an purchased a new 10x5 no regrets

I agree I prefer the 5x10. I have a 3x6 that works on my Vaquero, but they are hart to find. I think the DD 5.75 is almost as good.

I hear you on the free time if we could just trade in the wife and kids for a week and metal detect that would be great, my son and wife don't have the interest

We are in the same boat Jav, my family could care less, I don't require alot, just give me a weekend fix and I'm good. Of course more would great but I'm not greedy. Wife is out of town this WEEKEND, so its just me and my boys, adding up that :thumbup:comp time

be great to hear your opion on the 10x5 after you've used it a while Jharhed , I leave the 10x5 on 95% its a good coil worth the $$ I belive ...good luck & happy digs on the weekend
