705 to Etrac ease?

GoVidGo

New member
I got my first detector about 3 months ago, X-Terra 705. When I am not working I have it out at Pennsylvania parks, fairgrounds, lakes, old houses/foundations, etc...
I really like it and have learned to use it as well as I could in that 3 months. I am very tech savy and like to learn...
I am enjoying my new hobby enough that I grabbed an F2 for someone to use if they wanna go with me...
I have thought about getting an E-Trac over the V3i, and was wondering if it would be like starting over(?), or maybe easier to learn and get used to the E-Trac, since I am going from the 705(?).

Any thoughts?

E-trac is not bad at all. If you can handle the 705 you can it too. Get a good dealer to talk you thru it on the phone or a mentor. Be sure to get Andys book. Feel free to call me and I can help you with your purchase and how to set it up.

Thanks, Bart

Are u using multi tone on your 705? If so going to etrac will be super simple. I upgraded from the xterra as well and was finding silver on day one

no. I just have the stock coil that came with it. it actually works really well, I think

I did not ask what coil. I asked if you were using multi tones (the sounds)

I went from the X-Terra 70 (very similar to the X-Terra 705) to the E-trac. I had no problems adapting to the E-trac.

Though the machines are similar in operation, there is still a very large learning curve for the E-trac. A little Patience and just using it will get you up and running in no time. Be sure to ask lots of questions, and be sure to buy from a local dealer. I'm not knocking the on line dealers, but a local dealer will give you much better service where the learning curve is concerned. Also make sure you buy Andy's E-Trac manual, read it page for page and keep it handy to use as a reference. It's worth it's weight in gold to help you get started. Rick IL

oh yeah. I use multi tones....
