705 still in for service.....X30 strikes GOLD!!

Not that I ever had any doubts about the X30s abilities, It found plenty of gold rings before I upgraded to the XT705.
With my morning free I decided to hit a local sports field. Even with the cooler weather that usually gets me off the beach and out of the water to hunt the parks, yards, and ball fields, I have not spent or had that much time to MD them. Honestly thought I would just pound clad for a few hours to kill time till noon. Found the usual clad as expected, but it was more quarters (2.25) and cents (9) than nickels (1) and dimes (0).
What sounded like a my only dime,TID 36, was the Azalea Bulldog tag. Other than the shell casing and the key (TID 30/32) the other small items were in the foil range, 8,10,12,16,20.The 14k, 8.1g ring, weave part is yellow/outer is white... and it is inscribed ( I hate finding them with an inscription.... Seems more cherished to who ever lost it), was a solid TID 12 and was maybe an inch or two deep. It's my second 14k this month...starting off to be a good year. GL ALL

Congrats on another great score Bob! :clapping:

Sometimes it is more what is under the coil than what it is plugged into. Gold always is a welcome find!

Nice find Bob! That's a heavy one!

Congrat's on the gold ring. So is the hunt on now for the owner of the ring??
Wedding bands, unlike class rings, give little information to help in finding their owner. Most have a inscription like, "love you forever", "my one and only", or some initials and a date;.. This one says," luckiest Love" and a date......not much to go on! I will look in the lost and found on CL and the paper, and have at times posted on CL if it was a recent find (Mostly water finds can be determined as recent drops during the summer ). But In these circumstances when posting a found ring on CL, I will say inscribed with date to keep the replies to a minimum..... But like I have said before, if their not listing a lost ring on CL or in the paper, their not looking there either.
I did contact the rec center today at the sports complex, and like at the beach I have handed out my MD card to people that work there and also that do ground work, my card is also on a number of bulletin boards at several rec centers.

I have @ 2 dozen wedding bands that are engraved that I have found through the years just incase the owner ever surfaces. When I got all the publicity from the " Bart and Rachel Ring" (google it) I had several emails concerning lost bands, some with inscriptions....but no winners.
Thanks and GL ALL

Since the ring was 1' to 2" deep I'm guessing it was lost about 10 to 20 years ago so I would say it's almost imposable to find the owner.

I don't think so Mark....the year on the inscription is x/x/11, and lawn equipment could be part of the depth.

I posted info on CL about a wedding ring that I found and I started to get all kind of replies of people wanting the ring and saying it was theres. I didn't include any pictures or description, just the park that it was found in. I deleted the ad and changed the wording to "if you can tell me your wedding date that's inscribed inside Ill gladly return it to you. Any replies to me with the incorrect date will not receive a response from me.".

I did end up getting some people that sent me dates but I also received a few from people saying that they were sure it was there's and they were divorced now and didn't remember their wedding date. ha ha ha

My brother (Hotrod53) posted info on CL one time and the ring that he found could also easily be described by the rightful owner. Some guy all but threatened him with bodily harm that the ring was his. He even told him "I've already contacted the police and turned you in because the ring is mine and I want it back". That guy was such and idiot because that he thought my brother was as dumb as he was. I told my brother to tell him that you'll gladly meet him at the police station, the same police station where he's going to get arrested for "theft by deception".
