705 prospecting mode falsing on hand

Hi,
just curious if this is normal in prospecting mode for the 10.5"DD 18khz coil to give a pretty solid hit when I wave my hand under the coil.
I don't wear jewellery and the sensitivity is at 5

I'm guessing that when you say sensitivity at 5, you mean Iron Mask at 5. Your sensitivity should be much higher than 5 and still be stable.
As sensitive as that coil is to small objects, I'd have to guess that the coil is hitting on something. A button or snap on a shirt cuff? Watch? With Iron Mask at 5 you wouldn't see tiny iron, but something plated would get a hit.

I experienced this also with the 6'HF coil last summer out in the desert prospecting. It turned out to be salty perspiration on the palm of my hands. I washed my hands with soap and water and the signal was gone. Of course it could have been some very fine gold dust mixed in also..... .

Ive got the iron mask as 5 plus just been fiddling with the sensitivity. the ground atm where im playing is displaying the GB at 17 so I needed to turn the sensitivity down to stop a lot of chatter.

definitely, no metal on me causing this and this falsing doesn't matter if I have the detector In the air or on the ground, basically I was trying to find a target and holding small amounts of dirt in my hand waving it slowly in front of the coil trying to find a target. low and behold I was chasing my tail as after I dropped all the dirt I was still getting that signal.
I then moved the coil over the ground again and ended up finding a .177 calibre air rifle pellet that was originally 3 inchs down.

I finally got to try out the prospecting mode last week. I was very happy with it, had lots of fun. Glad you posted, so I'll be aware of this now...
