705 HEADED TO CHICAGO IN A BOX

I've owned my 705 a year to the week. Love the thing hunt every chance I get, but Monday evening I was swinging away, I hit the pinpoint button and it changed my program, thought that was strange. I couldn't get it to pinpoint. Hit the AM button and it went into pinpoint mode. then I couldn't get out of PP mode. Shut unit off tried a factory reset still did same thing. I was using the 10.5 DD HF coil in damp grass so they say its not water proof so I put the stock coil on no change. later at home I was still messing around trying to troubleshoot and found the ground tracking button also puts unit in PP.
Called Minelab today talked to Lon he was very nice to deal with. He said turn around should be 10 to 15 days. So the 705 is headed back to Chicago.I 'll keep you guys updated on the customer service experience

Really feel for you, especially when something like that happens during the summer months. Hope you have a good backup, not wanting any downtime is why I kept my previous detector when up-grading.
