705 great at beach

Just clad and the usual foil that you have to dig while hunting for rings. Didn't have a lot of time to hunt but did find out the 705 works very well in wet salt sand. Scooped dimes at 10 plus in. with very little falsing. Used beach mode, all metal, 26 sens. Wasn't my explorer se but very impressed with the 705.

Used the 10.5 in. 7.5kHz. Ground balanced at 76 in beach mode.
Are you sure? That doesn't sound right at all.
I'm not calling you out on this, but I never get Ground Phase numbers like that in C/T mode on mild dirt, and rarely if ever have I seen numbers out of single digits in Beach Tracking mode.

Yes, it balanced at 76 and I did not use tracking at all. Was in All Metal, activated beach mode, and ground balanced as usual using auto (but not tracking). Maybe someone that has used the 705 at St. Augustine Beach, Fla. (besides me) can comment on their experience??? In the North Ga. dirt that I usually hunt the 705 balances in the low to mid 30's. I've been metal detecting since 1978, think I know how to use one (I think?), but all advice and comments are welcome as we can all still learn from others.

I just checked my 705, as I have not used it since I got back home a couple of days ago. The GB still reads 75 which is what it balanced at on the beach the last time I did a ground balance. Did this just to prove to myself that I am not crazy.

Are you manually balancing, or auto balancing?
And is there some reason not to use Tracking?

As stated above, I used auto ground balance. I've used tracking a little bit and prefer normal ground balance. If anyone has hunted near the St. Johns County Pier at St. Augustine Beach I would really like to hear about your experience there.
