705 Gold Pack scores Gold !!!

I went to a nearby town and hunted an area that we have pounded and pounded but will every now and then still produce a silver or two. My oldest US coin came from this location but lately when I have been there, good signals were few and far between. I dug a couple of zincs and then moved out into an open area. The signals were really sparse so I started digging anything that would produce a nice consistant signal. I dug a couple of pull tabs and then I got another signal and thought it was another tab. I was really surprised when I turned over the flap and saw this tiny little baby ring with a yellow stone. I thought it was silver at first but after cleaning it up a litlle bit I could see 14k stamped inside the ring. I was using the 705 with the Coiltek 3Khz 15" WOT and I was really surprised that it picke up the tiny white gold ring at about 3 inches. Here are the photos of my finds.

Nice find! I'm sure someone was sad when they lost that!

Sweet ring! Congratulations!
I pays to dig those pull tabs.....literally. The ratio could be better, but finds like that ring make the last hundred or two you dug seem worth it.

You are exactly right and that was my error. I bought the Gold Pack with the 5X10 and that's just what I referred to but I didn't think about my Title when I posted it. I was using the 15" WOT at the time !! Thanks for correcting my blunder.

Nice ring n good job.
Been at it a couple weeks with a new 705. I got so exited at a little town park one short hunt. I got a steady signal I don't remember the # now. Darn. Anyway, repeatable and I didn't want to just dig coins because I'm still looking for my first gold. I flipped over a nice hinged plug and the pp says the targets in the plug. I peel back some mushy wet soil and see that sweet round gold ring. I thought id die. Just part was showing. Hands shaking I retrieve it and huuugh. What!! Out of the mud clod pops the beaver tail end. Oh no!!! A gold colored tab??? And yes apparently there is gold tabs out there....what a letdown... HH...

That's funny because I have done that same thing seeing gold in the plug only to discover its a tab ... I don't generally hunt for jewelry so the ring really came as a surprise. I was just in an open area with not many targets and digging pretty much everything that would consistently repeat out of sheer boredom.
