Toooo hot for the usual sun-up hunts on the beach, so switched to sundown till.....?
Summer tourist season is coming to an end with schools back in session. Hotels and resorts are empty during the week but, still fill up on weekends. Labor Day will be the last big getaway weekend for summer.
Two night hunts with the 6" HF DD coil found lots of coin and small items. Only a sterling Star of David and chain were on the plus side of the jewelry finds. I'm always glad to find lots of nickels since that has more than once been a gold ring and it also tells me that other MDers are either not digging them or just not detecting them. What I'm not glad to find is the broken tabs that I would of bet dollars to donuts were a nickel. At least the full tabs jump around 12,14,16, but these broken ones are a dead on TID12!!
$6.43 in coin including two one dollar coins and two red, white and blue cents left over from the 4th. A one pound UK coin, (Thick Coin!!), Florida Aquarium stamp coin, Junk jewelry and miscellaneous items sum up the rest of the finds.
*On another note....My used Blue Xcal 1000 that I bought at the beginning of the year developed a coil issue the other day. A split coil cable let salt water into the coil housing.(New coil and labor by Kellyco $330.00) If you water hunt these things should be expected and sooner or later are bound to happen. Some people are less likely to get into water hunting because of fear of ruining a machine that cost a thousand dollars or more. But the finds can more than pay for these repairs or even another MD.....18k 2.75 oz bracelet. GL ALL
