70 vs 705 Depth Differences?

I have a 705 on order, has anyone compared the performance of both? Had a 70 and traded it off like a dummy, looking forward to the new features on the 705. I will be using the 10.5DD Med Freq coil on it, boy the 70 was DEEP on relics with that setup.......:hot:

I have made the comparison and believe the 705 does obtain more depth. Not enough that I would go out and trade my X-70 for a 705, based solely on the depth difference. But I'd say 5 - 10% more on coin sized targets. Since I used the same coils on both detectors in my tests, I attribute that depth difference to the updated processor. Seems to me that where the X-70 was either "go or no-go" on those coins at the brink of being "too deep", the X-705 will give a whisper signal after the X-70 gave up on them. But as always, that is JMHO HH Randy

Thanks Randy, I did a dumb thing and traded my X-Terra 70 off last month and could not stand the machine I got. I have a new 705 & 10.5 DD coil on order.
It will be good to get back to Minelab again.......MO

I bought my kids an ACE 250 last Christmas and we've enjoyed it as a family. I've been considering an X70 or 705 for a while now. Do you guys think the xterra units are deeper than the Ace 250? I'm speaking of "stock vs. stock". Thanks.

There's one detector that stands on it's own cloud miles above the competition in the all-rounder niche, the XT. It dosen't really have competitors, only wannabes such as the 250. It'll kick any other general purpose detector's arse in depth, sensitivity, ease of use, weight, pinpointing ability and all round toughness of build.

cheers and HH
