70 K

In my whole life I have only been organized in metal detecting - nothing else. So I have kept track of the coins I have dug this last 27 years. Here's my display so far- one for each 10,000 coins. Most of the exact coins are common - 20 K was a Barber quarter.

Well yesterday when I went over 70,000 the coin was this neat Canadian quarter. It blows me away to consider all the junk targets I have also dug ! I have to glue & touch up things with it yet before I hang it on the wall. Steve in so az

You retired in 2003???

That is just amazing to me Steve. 10,000 coins a year since then??? Mindblowing. I doubt I have more than a tenth of that in 2 years :) My "New Years resolution" is going to be to start logging my finds. Maybe I'll just start putting a coin on the wall for every 1,000. I don't know how much time the Good Lord has in store for me

I'll be lucky if I make the 7K mark this year in 4 years of hunting.!

WTG Steve!

WTG, when I started in this hobby I would have never guessed there was that many coins to be found. I just crossed over the 10,000 coin count this year. lots of factors to finding a lot of coins. How good is the spot, how many other people detecting it, how much time I have, weather.
Happy hunting
Greg from Mi.

retired in 1996 - increased every year since. Records are fun - they direct you for the future sometimes, Steve

Great hunting Steve. "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all these treasures will be added unto you" really works!!!!!!
God bless
Al

Looking at your finds, I just figured you retired in '93 since you obviously increase in finds from that point on...

that I started digging more signals - instead of just the better ones then. Sure has increased not only my coins but my gold & silver as well. My gold totals each year jumped from the usual 8-9 things to 20-30 a year.
