Took the X-Terra 70 to an old town site that dates back to the mid 1850's. Never was much here in the way of buildings, as the town was relocated in the 1870's. The buildings that once stood here were either moved at that time, or fell down over the past 130 years. But, wanting to try out the 3 kHz coil on my X-70, I hunted an area where mainstreet use to be, about the size of a baseball infield. Not wanting to pass up any relics, I dug every non-ferrous signal until I was able to determine just what was going to be common trash in this area. I couldn't believe the number of parts from old kerosene lamps that I found! With the X-70, 3 kHz coil and 3 hours of hunting, I came out with 1 coin. I dug an 1868 2-cent piece at a depth of 6 inches. Not a great find, by any stretch of the imagination. But, in over 33 years of coin hunting, I have only found three of these 2-cent coins. Coincidently, the last one was found with my X-50. Sorry for the poor picture! HH Randy
