hit the water today at a new beach there were targets everywhere out in the deep water but pickings were a bit slim closer to the beach .
no gold today but i did find two bits of silver 1 cool Celtic ring & a hart earring with CZs the coin count was not to bad 35 coins for $14.05 no oldies today.
the water was nice & calm mostly only had to contend with the wake from the cargo ships in the bay 1 minute it"s calm next minute 2 foot waves, not to flash when your chest deep in the water
i"v got a scenery shot for ya pa pa Joe
hope the pics turn out as i"m using a different system

Good job there mate, you WERE in the right zone, for the yellow stuff, gold, lead and coins hang together!

Good job Friend!!

If you spent 7 hours hunting the water how can you call yourself "lazy", Aussie??

Careful or we may have to find another name for you!!

GL&HH Friend,

CJ

I noticed the pull tab was one of the 60s 70s type and the sinkers were also very old, I would definitely hit that area hard, not allot of pirates hit that area:super:

Well done,
that looks like a good, nice calm beach!

Hi mate,

reasonable day out! Not much junk for 7 hours, which is always a good thing.

I spent the long weekend staying at a friends holiday house at Kennett River on the Great Ocean Road.
Only got to hit the beach this morning, started in the dark to get the low tide.
Got 4 sinkers, 1 sparkler wire, 1 hair clip thingy, 1 bit of can and 1 bit of rolled up foil....wow.
All this in an hour and a half.
Its the second time I've tried here, first time was even worse.
Wye River, about 3kms away is just as bad.
But I never do any good when I hunt the surf, thats why I prefer the bay, targets everywhere.

Trip was'nt a total loss, snaffled a 2kg cray and speared some nice fish.

Lou.

sounds like ya had a great weekend out Lou, yeah i"v had a few days detecting like that over western port beaches plenty of sinkers & junk but no coins or jewellery  thought it would be loaded with loot with all the people that go over there in the summer.
