7 hours in the town square

A new guy to detecting (and a new club member) invited me to hunt a small town square. He had heard that the little town square had been detected before, but he wanted to hone in his technique and gain some tips on how to detect from someone with a little more experience. I said that I would go there with him and help him in anyway that I could.
After setting up our machines (my MXT and his XLT), we started to look around the front of the bandstand. To make a long story short,,, 2 hours of detecting Tuesday and 5 hours on Thursday here were the results,,, I found 27 quarters, 49 dimes, 20 nickels, 219 pennies,,,a token, .925 silver "Praying Hands" pendant, a Canadian penny, 2 keys and only one wheatie penny,,,a total of 315 coins worth $14.83...Wow ! I was up and down more times than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest ! I have yet to hear of my buddy's finds but I imagine them to be similar to mine. I had a good time but, man am I really tired and sore. Just another story about a "smokin'" MXT. HH...Lon

That may only be about 2 dollars an hour, but most hobbies pay you nothing.
