7-1800's Coins (Part 2)

Finally made it back out to the Agricultural Fairgrounds I posted about Nov 4 (16-1800's Coins). Weather has either been to rainy or to cold. Made it out Thursday Nov 13 and got in about 4 hrs. No silver this time but did manage 4 Shield nickels (1866 with rays and 3 1867's) also found 3 Indians (1866,+2-1800's) Fertilizer is not kind to copper. Hope you can make them out. Thanks for looking
Mike

Great Finds, If I was in the ground that long I bet I wouldn't look that good. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Paul
The nickels I use a Q-Tip and warm water and the pennies I soak in warm water and use a Q-Tip then I soak them in olive oil and use a Q-Tip

... they do look rough. But aint it nice to know you are on the right spot? That in itself is worth a lot. Keep at it.

I clean mine with sal ammoniac. Very effective and very fast (1-5 hours). You can control the process and save patina.
These damned fertilizes also drive me crazy. I found some coins 1705 and 1709 years. They are ALL in very bad condition.
