6x8 SEF or Sunray 8"-

I havent seen a compared. But if u look around the web, what is every talking about...I hear the 6x8 sef ALOT.people rave about it.I love my 18x15 sef thats for sure.Look around the post and see what people mention they use and what finds they have ..Good Luck HH

I had ordered the 6x8 sef but it was on back order. I ended up cancling it and ordering the X1 probe from Sunray. I have the 6" eq2, 18x15 sef and the stock coil. I love the small coil because it is fine for depth but super easy to pinpoint and then with the X1 I dont have to deal with "ghost holes" no more. With the 18" I am not so good at pin pointing, but I will get there. The 18" is awesome and you might as well bring a backhoe cause they go a long ways down!

I cant even count how many people told me when I asked about coils to get the 6x8 SEF. I will still get one, but I dont know if they are still back ordered or not?

It's been around a while, and now the 8x6 SEF, the new kid on the block. Hard to get, makes everybody want one more.---Wade

Sounds like a great time to buy a SUNRAY X-8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear the SEF is a great coil, but why buy what you can't get. The SEF was supposed to be in stock mid_June, then the end of June. Then supposedly shipped and due in first week of July. Now I have heard they are due in a couple of days or maybe the end of July. Kellyco doesn't even have the courtesy to give an update on when or if they are coming in.
A coil you can get works better than a coil you might get....every time.

Flood the market, you will see them in the classifieds.

Who actually makes that coil ???........... where does it come from ???? I know kellyco sells it..........I wonder where they get it from.

I agree with davew0710 ,I am pretty frustrated with kellyco not because the coil is backordered but because they will not tell me anything unless i harass them then they either lie or just tell you whatever.I am really tired of this and might just cancel my order and they will not get any more of my business.

..........And I think that both are great coils. 8x6 SEF is made by Detech in Bulgaria and thus the spotty availability, just the way it is nowadays with clearing foreign imports, Kellyco are probably getting the Customs runaround on both ends.
SunRay S-8 is a fine coinshooting coil good for park hunting it is stable and has good separation.
I was using the baby SEF on a freshwater beach a couple of weeks ago on my E-Trac and pulled an approx. 2" long old toy handgun from around a foot down in the sand running AM Quickmask in Auto Sens at the waterline so depth is good with the SEF.
I feel lucky mine arrived reading the comments, I sympathize with those stuck in limbo as I know from past experience the waiting is painful when you want to be hunting. Hope availability improves, and hope this is helpful.
