6X10DD COIL BJ SOLD ME FINDS GOLD!

Yeah, I decided I needed to test that coil out so I went to a local grammar school just down and around the corner from my house. I wasn't bent on finding anything good, I was just seeing how well I can pin point targets with this new coil.
But I found a gold plated ring about 4 inches down. I was thrilled about this at first until I found out it was just plated. I thought it was a little light for the size of it.
Then just a few minutes later I unearth my first real gold of '08 and found this little 10k gold ring with a stone still within it's grip! What kind of a gem is that I wonder.
So I guess the 6x10DD works ok! Thanks again BJ!
I can't wait to try out the 5.3 he also sold me.

That 6X10 is a dandy coil and a great find with it too Dang. The stone looks like a Garnet.

Great find.!!!!!:clapping:
I found another ring yesterday. Its a kids ring, but I don't think my find has much gold in it.
There is no stamp on the inside indicating what it is.
It has a little stone, glass I think, in the center.
Is that stone on your ring a ruby?

I'll probably have to break down and buy one.
The sports fields I have gone to are HEAVY with mineralization.
Even setting the discrimination way down doesn't help much.
They use heavy red iron laden dirt on the pitchers mounds. Its a real
pain having to lift the coil off the ground all the time.:ranting: Still I didn't do too
bad yesterday. Picked up another ring but its just a junk one. ALso picked up
$5.40 in clad, a red matchbox car, and a whistle that still works!
