6x10 for m6

Hello I got my 6x10 in the other day and used it today, I feel like I can only get targets that are 3inch deep maybe 4.5 at the most. Does anyone else have this coil and what depths are u getting? Thanks

Hi Al, I don,t have a 6x10 now i sold mine, but when i had it i got better depth than that. I always got at least 6 to 7" on coins. I ran mine on my MXT that is just like the M6, check all your settings, you might have something set wrong. Did you get it new? if you did you might need to send it back. Good luck Flintstone

Are you running sensitivity where the M6 is totally quiet? Mine won't beat yours in depth either with the 6x10 until I set the sens to where it has a little chatter. If I don't have any chatter at all, I never see 6-7 inches with that coil. jm2c. martin

Depth has a lot to do with the ground you are hunting in, what is your depth with the stock coil? Is the coil new or used? What do you get air testing the coil? If you get 8-9 inches in the air but 4.5 in the ground, it is your ground conditions and if you only get 4.5 in the air I would say the coil is defective. You really can't compare depth with other people because that varies greatly from 12 inches on a sandy beach to 4 inches or less in very mineralized ground.

It's brand new, and I actually do get around 8" on air test

Hello,

Mr. 5900 & Larry are both right. Read your manual on ground balance and Hot ground. Crank up your gain until it chatters then back off a little.
You may have have hot ground.

Ken

I run mine with a slight chatter and it's like a pre amp on depth. I don't back down. It gets a drop in depth real fast if I do. martin
