64 sq ft in all metal

I found the Items in an 8 ft x8 ft earea digging in all metal the finds seem to confirm the old story I heard that when tabor homsteaded this site in 1879 his 1st house was on a hill he later built a house in the farm field to the east but i dont know exactly whear but from the finds it seems the house was demolished I can tell this from the many cut nails , I never find this many cut nails out in the feild only an ocasianal cut nail , but if you notice most of the nails ar broken indicating they tor off boards and knocked of the heads that stuck out of the beams and many are bent also indicating being pulled or hammered backwards so I think they salvaged the boards and foundation stones and rebuilt the new house in 1890s but i have yet to pinpont the foundation wich sould hold lots of cement mortar that was chipped away from the stones two no iron targets came out a brass washer and a melted lead I have been over this spot in discrimination many times with many detectors but it took a dig all to get the brass and lead , the thing with holes was 1 ft down and targets ranged from suface to 10" mostly

Another example of why no place is ever completely hunted out. I am beginning to wonder if screening areas that have produced really good finds is worth the effort.

Well this is it , this is my defalt hunting spot when i cant get out anywhear else and thear is lots of ground to cover , I have hit the jackpot of cut nails,

Bro,
that is a mighty big nail collection... you are close to the house area that is for sure. Keep plugging away and one of these days you gonna be surprised. Keep the pressure on those critters. - Jim

Hey wait....I think I see a mole up on bone hill lol

Gunnar, see my post I just made in your other thread, as it fits nicely with this thread too. You are a machine, my friend, and I mean that. A $50 detector in your hands will put other people to shame at a spot they have long since given up on. Makes me feel kinda guilty when the sites I hunt I still tend to roam looking for those classic deep silver signals. More and more I'm trying to get back to the way I used to be, the way you are right now, digging it all, because that's when I seemed to make some of my best finds. Just got spoiled over the years and lazy, relying on my various machines to give me that edge again, when in fact the real edge to bring old sites alive again is not behind the control box, but behind the eye balls. Great job, and you put most of us to shame with your ambition and desire to "just dig"!

Gunnar,

It is also possible you have located an outbuilding, like a woodshed or other farm building.

Based on the metal you did find, I have to wonder if its the house you located.

Keep us posted on your progress.

It is interesting.
