Got the old 6000D out of the closet stuck the 14AA batteries in it and it fired up sort of. No sound from the speaker only thru head phones, GEB disc works, GEB works, the push button for mode changes does not, GEB max pegs the needle and it stays there. I might contact Whites and see if its economical feasible to put it back in order. When I switched to Tesoro Umax detectors around 1998 I put the 6000 away.

I would get it fixed . White's probably still has the parts to fix it and they are very reasonable . Then if after you got it fixed if you decided it was too heavy or you wanted to get something newer you could sell or trade it . It has a following and is still a very effective tool .I'd give Sweet Home a call .

I believe I will give Whites a call. It might be fun to whip this around one more time. By the way I have the hip mount conversion for it.:geek:
