6000 PRO XL for beginner?

Mike T

Member
I have a like new 6000 xl pro that a friend wants to buy. Is this a good machine for someone just starting out?

A great machine, set the knobs on preset, ground balance and turn him loose. He will learn to tweak it with use.

I agree with Larry, just make sure your friend learns how to use the Trigger Switch

when making ajustments.

If this detector was a vintage high performance car.....it would be in the top ten. Its a great machine to start with. Lucky friend:) Now it might be tiring to swing......so if it is...have friend look into.... Doc's Swingy Thingy.

It's a great detector to start out with. It was my 1st decent detector I ever had. My first time out I found an antique sterling silver ID bracelet under a tree in my yard.

Question: If you own it, why in the world would you want to part with it? Even if you have other models, or newer models, the 6000 Pro XL was, is, and will be a definite contender in the great performance category.

Answer: Yes, it is good for a beginner on through the experienced and avid detectorist. Asa others mentioned, make sure you familiarize your friend with the controls (triggers and knobs) and give a little hands-on guidance. In time your friend will than you for the great detector model and the time you spend helping him/her.
