60+ hours with the M Kruzer

I just finished my 60th hour today and my confidence with this machine increases with each outing.

I've detected for over 20 yrs and I mostly detect hunted out Texas city parks and schools. I spent the first 30 hrs or so using the standard coil (pinpointing seems pretty good to me, I know others have had problems), 3 tone, 14Khz with light notching and once I was able to hunt a couple of days in N. Florida in beach mode. While I was finding targets with almost the same frequency/depth as my previous machine and I liked the awesome target separation, I had to have more depth.

So I I took the advice from others here and made the switch to 2 tone, 14Khz, lightly notched and occasionally switch to 5 or 19 based on location, trash, traffic and age. That's now become my go to mode. More targets and much deeper. I've started consistently pulling out coins at 6-10 inches (I've left my depth readout in metric though cause I "speak" both, and most of the time it's more accurate). I put zincs VDI 67- 68 in the low tone range, so "good" coins and silver really stand out. I still dig the zincs, I just know what they are. Most bottle caps really zip/sing higher around VDI 74-77 in ground, more than the non bottle caps targets do in the same range. Coins on edge seem to jump true then lower in some coil swing directions and it seems I'm finding more like that, If it says steady VDI 88-89, it's 90% probably a quarter, s quarter, s ring. Bigger silver rings, a bit higher numbers VDI 88-92. I've got some more tweaks to my notch outs to make, but overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my Multi Kruzer. My hunting buddy with an AT Pro, Deus n F75, has started thinking about getting a Kruzer/Anfibio/next gen, he calls my machine the quarter magnet and likes the all weather, go anywhere, rechargeable, wireless features. I love it when he stops detecting to change detectors, more targets for me.

So far I've found $132 (not including $8 of 9volts/18 hrs for previous machine), a silver pendant VDI 80-82, 3 silver rings, two this year VDI 88-90, lots of junker rings and lots of fun goodies. In my last three hunts I've found over $30 and two silver rings. For urban Texas, that's a dang good way to start the year and the trend is up. No gold yet, but I know it'll come.

All in all, I'm just over what's basically a month's worth of regular 2-3/week detecting, so I'm more than happy with the return. I know without a doubt I never found as many good targets vs junk vs time with my previous machine and easily keep up with or surpass my mates with more expensive machines. When the new synced, rechargeable pinpointer (for MK I hope) comes out, I'll be close to my ideal setup that I've dreamed about for the last few years.

Great info. Thanks for your time to report out.

Do you feel the notching is hindering any performance?

On digital machines IMHO, I don't subscribe to the theory that discrimination affects depth. Other than the fact it may discriminate out the good targets that have a blended signal (win with other metals), and the speed of these machines should help reduce it.

I'm aware of the difference between discrimination and Notching, some of my issues is missing good ferrous relics, and I think I'm more alert as I hear more, with less notching.

I like the two tone info, thanks. Hopefully the performance could be as efficient as the Etrac.

One wish in have for the Nokta/Macro machines is user defined custom modes, and perhaps quick mask button so to speak so I could toggle between my programs and stock programs.

I said notch, but really its more like silent, I just block out the sound for example the 33-39 range, the VDIs still show up though. My iron disc is at 15

If you have decided on some custom settings for your Anfibio, you can save them so when the detector is powered up again, it will start with your custom settings.

I think they meant having the option of saving yer custom settings for say, 3tone, then when yer in the middle of the bush, you can switch to 3 tone no customizations so yer in all metal, I think. I've used the deep setting, no customizing, for the few times so far that I've been in those environments. Now I have te Kruzer, but I'm pretty sure it's the same as the Anfibio when setting it ip

Exactly what galwayboy thought.

On this Anfibio it appears many of the setting are predetermined by the mode you hunt in. On other machines I would have two somewhat similar programs to flip back and forth with when hovering over a target. I feel( and I could be wrong) it helps me fine tune a program to suit my needs or what I believe my needs are. With this machine if I like, for example 5 tone, the next closest may be 4 tone, which has different gain setting, and perhaps others I cannot control.

The second struggle is if I saved my setting, if I ever want to check against the stock 5 tone, I have to do a factory reset, and then reprogram my 5 tone to get back to where I thought I wanted it.

This brings ap another question for Dilek/Nockta/Makro- if I do a reset in a mode does it just reset that mode I am in or the entire machine.?

I'm pretty sure the Reset takes ALL the Anfibio modes back to the factory settings. Glad I had my little "Cheat Sheet" already made so I could just go back and re input the settings I wanted.

Yes reset reverts all modes back to factory default settings. It was suggested when the Impact came out, make sure you right down your favorite settings, in case you do a reset. Even when you update your detector, it will revert back to default. Rest comes in handy when you first start to tinker and adjust settings and then just want to start over from default settings.

Good to know. This may be a bit cumbersome, but for the price point, I believe most others at the same level, probably do the same.

A program reset and a complete reset might be a nice added feature. Certainly not crucial, but nice.

Nice writeup on your Multi Kruzer. Waiting on that pinpointer you mentioned myself.

I don't care for the way topics start out discussing the M Kruzer and then suddenly shift to the Anfibio. I know they are similar but I think it's time to have a M Kruzer forum and a separate Anfibio forum listed as Nokta / Makro Multi Kruzer and Nokta / Makro Anfibio. Same as other detectors here on Finds. I'm sure others will disagree and could probably name them. JMHO.

make a separate sub topic or just not hijack a thread.....

Thanks to all those who've read my post, I'd love to hear y'alls experiences with the Kruzer.

I think I'm going to reset my 3tone for a trashy park/school setting, 14Khz, Iron disc at 16, with the only low tones at 27-33 (nickels/gold rings) n 49-52 (gold rings), medium tones for 66-68 (zinc+) and high tones starting at 75 n up (IHs, clad n silver). I know I'm cutting out some gold ranges, but I'd like for those times I don't have long at a site that's full of trash. Thoughts?

It's not going to happen unless of course you want to flip the bill for the extra forum. It all brakes it down to people need to stop hijacking the post Plain and simple. GS

In My experience last summer with the Multi Kruzer, Woman's gold rings came in at 22. This was water hunting in 5 ft of water with the 7" concentric.
Then there was a gold chain I found that came in in at 12.
Careful on where you notch. Maybe try some sample rings to see where the numbers are.

Just want to say the Multi Kruzer is an Awesome set up for water hunting. Amazing to see and work with the control panel submerged.

Are you notching out your unwanted vdi’s? If so, don’t forget about indian head pennies. They should come in at 60-61 on your Kruzer.
