6 x 10 coil for v3

Been using the 6 x 10 made for v3 but rx always recommends 3. If I crank it up only a few points it starts beeping all over the place in any area I detect. Do I have a bad coil? PS....The stock coil went bad on me only after a couple of outings.

By all means, give White's a call. I know they have been having a problem with keeping some of the coils in V3 null, (specifications). This might be the reason some users are not getting the depth they should be getting and bailing out.

Also, last night I tried the tx boost and a curious thing happened....it won't pick up my wedding band...with it off it picks it up about 8" away.....apparently frequencies are changing with this coil with tx boost on!

I'm new to this forum as a registered user, but have done a lot of reading here, very informative!. From Upstate NY, I've been metal detecting for 25 years and currently own the following metal detectors:

- Whites Eagle II SL (91), Whites DFX, Whites Spectra V3, Minelab Original Sovereign, Minelab Explorer II, Explorer SE, Minelab E-Trac, Fisher CZ3D, & Fisher Coinstrike.

I have also owned:

- Whites Eagle II, Whites Eagle II SL (89), Minelab XS, Fisher 1260, Fisher 1265, Tesoro Golden Sabre & Garrett Grandmaster Hunter.

Dave regarding the use of the 6 x 10 eclispe DD coil on the V3, I have experienced the same behavior as you have (maximum Rx gain recommendation of 3 no matter where I use it and gets unstable if turned above Rx gain of 3. I thought this was because I was using the non - V3 nulled coil off of my DFX. I ordered the V3 nulled 6 x 10 coil and experienced the same exact behavior, which was surprising. I also have the V3 nulled 10 inch D2, 9.5 eclispe & 4 x 6 DD shooter coils which all work fine.
