Hello My Friends!
Yesterday, I got to meet up with some of my buddies at the famous "silver park". It was a great day! Temps were in the mid 70's, with a nice breeze. I got to the park first, and shortly after, Danny(SoCalDigging), Leo(fooleo), and Jeff arrived. We were detecting an area that has given up plenty of old coins, but has been getting more and more difficult to locate good signals. The ground was rock hard, but I was eager to see if I could locate any good signals left in this trashy, deep clad, underground pipe part of this park. Jeff immediately began filming for another episode of "Finder's Keepers", when I told him to come over and start filming a deep signal I had found. It was a classic Explorer, deep and faint, fluty silver signal. As I pried my way through the hard layers of dry dirt, at around 8", my probe gave a nice, solid silver tone. Sure enough, out popped my first silver, a '44 Merc. After digging a few more wheats, I found another Merc and Rosie, along with the thin, silver ring. Near the end of the day, and as we were getting ready to do our "wrap-up, show and tell", I scored a couple more silvers as I was walking toward my car; a '47 Rosie and '64 Quarter within 10 inches of each other to round out my 6 silver day. Since I always wear gloves, I didn't know what I had done to my left hand until I took them off. It looks a lot worse than how it feels. I must have broken some blood vessels, and I'm going to have to change my digging technique with my Lesche so that it doesn't happen again. Damn dry ground!! I felt like I've recovered about 3/4 of my strength back, and it was good enough to be able to keep up with all my buddies yesterday. I really enjoyed meeting up, detecting, and comparing deep warble signals with my buddies again! I will definitely be returning back to the "silver park"! It has treated me very well in the past for the oldies, and on my return trip in over a year, there was still silver waiting for me!
Thanks for looking!
